TJ Wasden is a born leader, dedicated business owner, and art lover. He is currently based in Austin, Texas, and has over thirty years of experience in his industry. Prior to pursuing his professional aspirations, TJ Wasden prioritized his education. He initiated his academic journey by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Subsequently, he returned to the same institution to achieve his Master’s in Social Work.
TJ Wasden is Principal Owner at Circlewide Services LLC, a consultancy and training firm specializing in leadership and management. This venture aligns seamlessly with TJ’s expertise and passion. The primary mission of this newly established company is to foster a continuously expanding network of individuals committed to making the world a better place.
Over the years, TJ Wasden has come to understand that leaders and managers play a pivotal role in driving forward progress. TJ Wasden embarked on his latest venture with confidence that can only come from extensive experience. Before this endeavor, TJ dedicated twenty-four years of his career to the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services, where he held various roles. His journey began as a Child Protective Services Investigator from 1998 to 2001, after which he assumed the role of Child Protective Services Supervisor from 2001 to 2005. Subsequently, TJ took on the responsibilities of Region 7 Hiring Specialist in 2005 and later became the East Central District Lead Hiring Specialist in 2006. In his most recent position, from 2007 to 2023, TJ served as the Division Director and Records Management Officer. During this time, he implemented robust accountability measures for Records Management, cleared a backlog of records requests over a decade, and introduced improvements to address numerous department-wide challenges.
Before his tenure in the Protective Services field, TJ Wasden held leadership roles in a different capacity. He initially served as the Director of the Youth Ministry Department at the University United Methodist Church from 1989 to 1994. Subsequently, TJ transitioned into the role of Business Administrator for the Trinity United Methodist Church from 1996 to 1998.
TJ Wasden has a profound passion for arts and culture outside of work. Throughout his life journey, TJ Wasden has consistently championed the significance of art and culture in shaping a better world.
